Good time. Finally made it after all this time. Very good tour and experience.
Beautiful Mansion and great place to hold meetings and dinners. Jessica and Amanda are awesome. The meaning behind the Barker Mansion is something to explore, --what a great family. If you are looking to find a meeting place, check out the Barker Mansion. Lynn and Diane, Encoré Event Planning.
Beautiful historical home! Most of the items in the home are original. We did self tour, the museum provides a guide which is a little like a scavenger hunt, highlighting certain objects. These help to tell the story of the home. No photography is allowed in the home. At the end of the tour the staff member offered us a free full color 32 page book. It is their way of making up for the no pictures rule. There is a fee to tour the home but it is minimal.
Beautiful historic mansion. They have tour guides or self guided tours. Once a month or so they have black out tours where you get to see everything behind the scenes in the mansion.
Everything about this place is beautiful. I just wish they could draw the drapes–many of the curtains were closed and it made the place feel dark and dreary, but it is necessary to keep the old furnishings looking nice. The yard is GORGEOUS, especially on sunny days. It is very well kept. Definitely recommend for weddings. I was there catering for one. It has a very long, very nice kitchen that was recently refurbished. There is lots of space to work in the kitchen and easy access to essential tools.
